Throughout our hospitals and in our daily business, we seek to improve our environmental performance.
We manage the social and environmental impact of our procurement decisions and work in partnership to influence social, environmental and governance performance of our supply chain.
Switch to solar and LED lighting
As part of a new sustainability initiative, in 2018 Healthe Care commenced the roll out of solar panel installation and a switch to energy efficient LED lights. This initiative alone saw Healthe Care improve its net energy consumption by over 6,200,000 kWh each year, a reduction of more than 6200 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
Encompassing 27 Healthe Care sites (at the time), the project was implemented in conjunction with The Green Guys Group, a Sydney and Melbourne based company specialising in environmentally friendly upgrades across businesses and households.
We continue to review and implement sustainable practices to reduce our environmental footprint.
